Types of monitoring: on-site, remote, centralized, and how they affect your work
Differentiate between on-site monitoring, remote monitoring, and centralized statistical monitoring, describing the CRC's distinct responsibilities for each modality and how they combine in modern monitoring strategies.
The email that changes your morning
A coordinator arrives at the study site on a Tuesday morning and opens an email from the assigned CRA. It reads, in part: "For the upcoming monitoring cycle, we will be conducting the regulatory binder review and delegation log verification remotely rather than on-site. Please ensure that scanned copies of the updated delegation log, training records, and any new essential documents are uploaded to the secure document portal by Friday. I will complete the remote review the following week and will contact you with any questions. The next on-site visit will focus on source data verification for participants enrolled since the last visit and the investigational product reconciliation."
