Jordano de Brito Moreira da Silva, PhD, MSL

Medical Science Liaison (MSL)-trained scientist transitioning into Medical Affairs, specialist on Neuroscience, CNS and Neurodegeneration — connecting rigorous science to clinical practice and patient impact.

My focus is the interface of scientific exchange, KOL/HCP engagement, scientific communication and real-world evidence (RWE): translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for healthcare professionals and cross-functional teams.

My differentiator is deep scientific expertise: a PhD and MSc in Biological Chemistry (UFRJ) and 10+ years researching the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's Disease. I served as a postdoctoral researcher in Neuroimmunology at Fiocruz (2023–2025), with earlier work in Neuroscience at UFRJ (2016) and in Alzheimer's Disease neurochemistry at Columbia University, USA (2013–2014). This background allows me to engage credibly with KOLs and HCPs, critically appraise scientific and clinical literature, and support Medical Affairs strategy with scientific rigor. I am an author or co-author of articles in international journals, including the Journal of Pathology, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Neuroscience and Cell Metabolism.

Beyond the bench, my experience as a university Professor (Physiology and Biochemistry) refined the communication, teaching and presentation skills central to the MSL role — explaining complex science clearly and tailoring each message to its audience. My earlier work as a pharmacist provided direct interaction with patients and healthcare professionals, developing the empathy, listening and relationship skills needed to build trust with stakeholders in the field.
